SPOILER: What a weird ending! I definitely cared way more about the second couple's relationship toward the end. So cute! And I honestly fast- forwarded through a lot of the last 2 episodes. It didn't make a lot of sense and I had a bad feeling about how it was going to end. But the ending was fine. Just super weird that they didn't show his face.
Yeah I mean, everything is open to interpretation. I don't think La La Land is that cynical too, it's wholesome overall. "The fools who dream" is song that makes something hopeful and finds dignity in something that would make other people say "look at these fools who believe they are gonna make it in the industry, ha!".
La La Land will have a trajectory nothing like Spotlight. Spotlight has no rewatch value. It's a workmanlike movie shot like it was made for TV. It won because of its message, not because of its craftsmanship. The opposite can be said for LA La Land. 0. [deleted] • 7 yr. ago. Spotlight is worse than La La Land. 0.
Mia and Seb seems to be in love with each other. They lost time for each other. Mia went on a hiatus. Seb convinced her to go for the audition. They tell how much they love each other. Mia got the role which will be filmed in Paris. 5 years later Mia is with another man and have a 3-4 year old daughter.
LaLa Land was an Oscar and award mobile from the start, meaning before the screenplay was even written. It would’ve never been made without a celebrity attached. Then again, I spent eight years chasing the dream of being a talented unknown actress who signed onto a big film, so I’m a bit biased.
While navigating their careers in Los Angeles, a pianist and an actress fall in love while attempting to reconcile their aspirations for the future.
Otherwise, La La Land was the better movie in pretty much every aspect of film making IMO. Like it didn't have any supporting performances as great as Mahershala Ali's, but kinda hard to hold that against the movie whereas it didn't even really have a need for supporting characters.
This is how raw camera's are suppose to shoot. Things look ugly without coloring to provide a flat image. I totally agree that he color is one hundred percent a essential part but without the cinematography in place the coloring of a terrible shot will still look terrible.
Last Shot and Ending from LA LA LAND. Score by Justin Hurwitz.Mia pauses under a violet light. Her face tightens, eyes blinking contemplatively. She turns ba
La La Land blew its load in the first 10 minutes with 2 over-produced opening numbers in a row (out of 5 real numbers, if I'm counting correctly? John Legend's diegetic interlude doesn't count.) When 40% of your musical numbers are set-up songs, you know the director isn't really interested in making this a real musical -- he's interested in
La La Land, the “White Saviour Narrative,” and Rebels Without a Cause. There’s a great moment when Ryan Gosling’s character Seb is awaiting Mia for their second date to watch "Rebel Without a Cause" after he finds out she’s never seen it. When she finally arrives with a wash of the Nicolas Ray film upon her silhouetted body, their
La La Land presents these arguments in the form of Keith, the fusion artist played by John Legend in the film. Though his words sound reasonable — he asks Sebastian how he’s going to
It’s been almost seven years since Damien Chazelle gave us one of the classic musical-romantic movies of our time!. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone’s magical performance in the movie and an exceptional and out-of-the-box script helped the film fetch a magnificent 14 Oscar nominations, of which the film successfully won 6.
So I went to go see "La La Land" today alone, on the recommendation of a couple of friends, and I was literally obliterated by my feels. I think I spend the last hour or so like ugly crying in the worst way possible. I hardcore related to the love story especially with an ENFP ex of mine. Our relationship was quite similar in start (and
La La Land is overrated. The music in the film is mostly just boring, as opposed to another great musical from 2016, Moana. The songs in that movie were so much more lively and fun. How Far I'll Go totally should have beaten City of Stars at the Oscars. This thread is archived.
LS talked about how when he was burnt out and wasn't streaming he would just get on discord and watch fudge play in discord streams. He helped fudge develop and become the player he is now. I might be crazy for saying this, but LS will always be apart of C9 even if he isn't on stage or drafting. His influence in the team will be felt.
If you're going to criticize La La Land I think its how Ryan Gosling's character pretends to be the authority on "Jazz" music but he keeps calling it "Jazz" endlessly. And the way he explains it to Emma Stone's character in the "Jazz" club is incredibly simplified and truncated to fit the scene.
Excellent post. I've never gone back to watch La La Land again because I was too sad and frustrated at the ending. The end of their relationship wasn't earned and justified in how it played out, they should have stayed together. I didn't need that cynical ending, it should have had the Hollywood ending that's schlocky and sweet.
La la Land made me cry. If you haven’t seen it this won’t make sense. I saw it a few weeks ago but just found the words.. I’m almost 40 and had an on off bf since high school, Guy. He died in early this year .. and I regret not having that moment of mutual recognition - of growth that the end beautifully depicted.
